Tyler's 2nd birthday

Tyler turned 2 years old on Saturday, 5/24/08. Uncle Matt and Auntie Sarah came down to celebrate with him and to tell us that not only will Tyler have a new little sister but also a new girl cousin. Uncle Eric also came up to celebrate the birthday weekend and we had a nice dinner with Nono Al and Edele & Larry Vernazza. Becky made chocolate cupcakes for his birthday dinner and, as you can see, Tyler enjoyed them thoroughly.

On Memorial Day Monday, we celebrated his birthday again at a park in Newark with the rest of the relatives. We had lots of food, drink, and good company, and a "jumpy" house for all the "kids" to play in. Tyler was sad to see the jumpy go and kept saying the "jumpy go night-night....it tired".

Matt's birthday

Bob, Nono Al, and I spent Saturday afternoon and evening in Vacaville celebrating Matt's birthday and Mother's Day since they won't be down here next week. We went to dinner with Sarah's Dad and grandmother at Chevy's and had a great Mexican feast. We passed by Nonna's house to see Johnathan, Megan, and Madison before we left. It was a gorgeous night in Vacaville-about 80 degrees. Sarah and her Dad are traveling back East leaving Wednesday and coming back the following Tuesday. Matt is in the process of installing a dishwasher in their kitchen - new cabinet, plumbing, and new tile on all the counters. Seems to know what he is doing. Bob will go up this week to help him install a sink in the garage. They want to get all these things done before the baby comes. They should find out the sex of the baby soon. richard says it's a girl, Nono Al says it's a boy. We will see...

Zoo with Tyler

On Sunday, Bob and I went to the Oakland Zoo with Chris, Becky, and Tyler. He had a great time sitting on the tortoises, frogs, riding the train with Daddy and Nono and riding a Cheetah on the merry-go-round with Mommy. (Mommy felt a little dizzy afterwards, but Tyler had a great time.) It was a little cool for a Sunday in May, but Tyler kept his hat on most of the time to keep warm.
