Cheyenne's visit and Bob's fishing trip

Over the weekend, Cheyenne (and Matt & Sarah) came down to visit and meet some of the family in the Bay area. She was a perfect angel and only made a little noise when it was time to eat. Once her tummy was full, she was back to sleeping, stretching, and squeaking. Everyone got a chance to hold her, even Tyler who said he would be "bery caful with baby Cheyenne". Hope he does as well with his soon-to-be sister.

While we were enjoying the new baby, Bob and the fishing guys were having a most prosperous fishing trip. After catching and releasing many fish on Thursday (because of warm water and parasites on the fish), they had a much better catch on Friday and Saturday, with Bob catching a 3 pounder out of Jackson Meadow. They brought home 54 fish.

Chris and Becky's bed

After 4 years of promising Chris and Becky a bedrom set, it the final piece (the bed frame) arrived on Saturday morning. The bureaus had been brought over a few months ago, but the bed was finally finished. Tyler helped Nono and Daddy set it all up the bedroom, but it is so tall, he can't climb up any more. Now I can park my new car in the garage again (at least for a little while until a new project starts).

Cheyenne's homecoming party

With the first day home with Mommy under her belt on Friday, Cheyenne decided to try out Daddy on Saturday. While Sarah attended Megan's baby shower, Matt learned a lot about changing diapers (and clothes) on Cheyenne during the afternoon. Nono Al, Bob and I drove up to Vacaville about 5:00 p.m. Saturday night for a BBQ (and maybe get to hold the new baby). We got lots of pictures of just about everyone holding the baby, 4 generations on both sides, and enjoyed a wonderful dinner with family. Cheyenne slept thru most of the dinner but I'm sure she smelled like garlic by the end of the night just like the rest of us.

Cheyenne updates

Monday night, Bob, Eric and I took off for Berkeley about 5:30 p.m. We arrived at the hospital and Bob & I were allowed to go to her room in Nursery #3. (Eric had to wait for Matt & Sarah to come.) She is now in an open crib and although we could only look at her until Matt or Sarah got there, we got to watch her down about 1-1/2 oz of breast milk in about 10 minutes, and burp 2 times. When Matt & Sarah got there, Matt took her out of the crib and we were able to hold her. She is doing very well but they still want to watch her since she was so early.
