Okay, I'm a clutz!!
On Wednesday, July 9th, as I was walking in the school gym, I tripped off the side of my rubber-soled sandal and caught myself a few graceful steps later. Needless to say, the swelling started very quickly and since it was getting hard for me to walk, my boss sent me to Immediate Care. The doctor examined my foot and assured me it was not broken, just sprained, wrapped it and sent me home to ice it. I stayed home from work on Thursday, but by Friday, felt much better and limped a little to work. Re-check on Monday-when the doctor saw the bruising, he decided he should probably take x-rays even though I could walk fine. The x-rays were taken on Thursday night and, low and behold, a fractured bone. The doctor asked me why we didn't take x-rays the day it happened??????? DUH!!!! Since it will take at least a week to get a referral from workman's comp and then an appointment, we are still going to Truckee tomorrow and my boss will relay if I need to see someone in Truckee or wait until I get home in 2 weeks. I still have no pain but am walking very little and very gingerly to make sure it won't get any worse. Guess my vacation will be sitting on the couch - no hiking or beach. Although.... this could be a good thing since Bob will have to do all the cooking, cleaning, shopping.... No pictures this time - you can just imagine....

4th of July weekend

We had a very fun weekend up at the cabin over the 4th of July. Chris, Becky, and Tyler joined us up there on Thursday. Dave, Kathy, Madison, and Andrea were at the other cabin and we got together a few of the nights for dinner. Chris, Becky, and Bob went fishing on Saturday - caught only 4 fish, called me to bring Tyler down around 10:00, and he went fishing in the boat for the first time. He even "caught" an 11" fish (with Nono's help in attaching a fish to his line). He was very excited and, at one point, threw the fish back in the lake because he wanted to catch another fish "right now". He fixed our sliding door and our stairs several times during the weekend with his tools, took many walks outside and climbed several "gigantic" rocks. He also likes to play in Sophie's kennel. He is definitely a little boy.
